Sweet orange essential oil is extracted from the peel of fresh fruit by cold pressing. It is an oil of happiness and light, usually used in blends that promote peaceful sleep, due to its sedative properties. It is a versatile and light oil, with a wonderful, uplifting aroma, being among the most popular oils used in aromatherapy. Sweet orange essential oil produces joy, helps to improve the smell in a smoky room, is an appropriate oil for children. Combined with Cinnamon and Pine or Fir oil it creates a Christmas atmosphere. Sweet orange essential oil is a bright and cheerful oil, a wonderful antidepressant.

The aroma is warm and sweet, citrusy and fruity, similar to that of freshly peeled orange, but much more concentrated. The fresh smell is uplifting and overwhelming.

• Effect: orange essential oil is a natural antidepressant, being an oil of happiness and light, refreshing and gratifying. It is usually used in blends that promote restful sleep due to its sedative properties

It's phototoxic! Do not expose yourself to the sun for the first 12 hours after using this essential oil. Some people can't tolerate citrus essential oils (or are even allergic), so be careful when spreading orange essential oil around others. It is used only diluted in a vegetable oil or cosmetic product (about 2 drops of essential oil per 10ml of product). It is not used as such on the skin, only as an ingredient in cosmetics, aromatherapy and perfumery.
How to use:
- as a massage oil: mix 15 drops in 30ml carrier oil, such as jojoba, avocado or almond and massage the skin or scalp with it
- in the hot tub: put 10-15 drops together with a cup of Epsom or Himalayan salt
- as a diffuser blend: add 6 drops of Grapefruit essential oil, 4 drops of Sweet Orange and 2 drops of Frankincense, for an uplifting effect and well-being.
