Bay Leaf essential oil is also known as Laurus Nobilis in scientific language, Bay Laurel or Laurel Leaf in international language and is part of the botanical family Lauraceae. It is extracted from the fragrant leaves of the tree by steam distillation and has become widespread, from the Middle East to the Mediterranean and Europe. Considered the symbol of the Sun God in Astrology and attributed to the God Apollo by the Greeks, the Bay Leaf tree and its healing leaves were considered symbols of wisdom, protection, peace and last but not least, purity. From an emotional point of view, Bay Leaf essential oil helps to increase confidence and mental focus, balances, centers and offers direction and creativity. It is considered an effective expectorant, very helpful in fighting symptoms of colds or viruses. Bay Leaf essential oil is strong and very concentrated, so our recommendation is to use it in small dilutions.
