Balsam Tolu essential oil is extracted from the resin of the Myroxylon tree and is obtained by steam distillation. This tree, cultivated in South and Central America, but not only, has a natural ability to produce resin, and the balm obtained from it is known by several names, including Myroxylon Balsamum, Peruvian Balsam or Indian Balsam. The name "Tolu" refers to the "Tolues" tribe of Colombia, it is said that its population used the tree as an ancient remedy for various ailments. Tolu Balm essential oil is widely used in the aromatic industry for the production of perfumes, deodorants, room air fresheners, but also creams, soaps, shampoos, detergents. It is also used to make cough syrups, throat lozenges, chewing gum and soft drinks. The captivating scent of this essential oil makes it suitable for use in relaxation techniques such as meditation and yoga, to calm the mind and senses.

Avoid using it if it has oxidized, as it can be irritating. Essential oils do not expire but can oxidize due to non-compliance with optimal storage conditions (protected from light and stored in a cool place, away from heat). It is used only diluted in a vegetable oil or cosmetic product (about 2 drops of essential oil per 10ml of product). It is not used as such on the skin, only as an ingredient in cosmetics, aromatherapy and perfumery. Contraindicated in pregnancy.
How to use:
- as a massage oil: mix 15 drops in 30ml carrier oil, such as jojoba, avocado or almonds and massage the skin with it
- In the hot tub: put 10-15 drops together with a cup of Epsom or Himalayan salt
- as a diffuser blend: add 10 drops of Tolu Balsam essential oil, 3 drops of Myrtle essential oil and 5 drops of Bergamot essential oil, for a state of self-love and acceptance.
