Petit Grain essential oil is extracted by steam distillation from the twigs and leaves of bitter orange, native to southern China and northeastern India. Petit Grain comes from the French language and means "small grains"; the fruits of bitter orange are much smaller than mandarins, like berries, which is why it received its name of Petit Grain. The oil is very useful during meditation, due to its relaxing and invigorating properties of the psyche. It is also known for its properties of stimulating creativity, increasing concentration and combating insomnia. Petit Grain essential oil helps a lot emotionally, being an uplifting oil, which balances and helps reduce anxiety and stress. Petit Grain contains linalool monoterpenol and linalyl acetate, compounds that soothe and harmonize, like Neroli and Lavender oil and is considered an aphrodisiac.
