Melissa essential oil is slightly irritating and sensitizes the skin, so it is not recommended during hot baths or massages for those with sensitive skin. Excessive use or in large dilutions can lead to skin sensitivities and irritations. Topical application is not recommended for children under 2 years of age or for children with skin problems (hypersensitivity, dermatitis, irritation). According to Tisserand and Young, a maximum of 0.9% is recommended . It is not recommended to use it in hot baths, even if it is diluted. Internal consumption is not recommended.
How to use:
- as a massage oil: mix 15 drops in 30ml carrier oil, such as jojoba, avocado or almonds and massage the skin with it
- In the hot tub: put 10-15 drops together with a cup of Epsom or Himalayan salt
- as a diffuser blend: add 2 drops of Melissa essential oil, 2 drops of Lavender, 1 drop of Ylang Ylang and 2 drops of Frankincense essential oil to relieve tension, stress or fatigue, to relax nerves and, used with little carrier oil, can relax muscles.
